Former President Trump surrendered to a New York state court April 4 to be arraigned and to face an indictment from the local district attorney regarding falsified business records in collusion with a hush money payment made to adult actress Stormy Daniels. Trump pleaded not guilty to all 34 felony charges in his initial hearing.
After years of investigation, former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a grand jury in the State of New York based around an alleged hush money payment paid by Trump to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump is expected to be arrested and booked in the coming days.
High schools across Northern Utah went into lockdowns after hoax shooting calls were reported to authorities across the state. Schools in Provo, Salt Lake, Ogden, and Box Elder were sent into lockdowns or saw police response after these calls were received.
Governor Spencer Cox signed S.B. 152 and H.B. 311 in a ceremony at the Utah State Capitol Building; the pair of bills are aimed at protecting minors from “addictive” elements of social media and setting new requirements for companies when creating accounts for minors.
Utah gained a new flag after Governor Cox signed S.B. 31 into law, the bill to take effect on March 9, 2024. Cox also signed an executive order specifying the use of the historic flag and petitioning the state legislature to amend the law to allow it to fly higher than the new flag, as some seek to put the flag on a referendum.
The UVUSA Student Council heard a presentation from UVU’s finance and business department to seek approval about fiscal policy changes, ranging from mandatory direct deposits, fraud deterrence and grant programs.
