Idahoan Potatoes is offering $5,000 to the best dorm-room potato chef in the country. The contest, which began on March 23 and will close on May 22, will also give the grand-prize winner a year’s supply of Idahoan Potatoes. To enter, any full-time student in good academic standing must send in their original recipe idea using at least one of Idahoan’s products.

The Mountain Man Rendezvous, with its iconic teepee, primitive weapons and various skins, was scheduled to take place last weekend in the UVU courtyard. But whether the always-outdoor event will happen or not depends on the forecast; and as of print time it is calling for rain.

Baton Rouge-based band Benjy Davis Project opened a window to their world with the November 4 album release, Dust, melding elements of folk, country, and pop into a sound that practically begs to be played on a cross-country road trip. Visual Voice, an art exhibit by Tammy Ballard, made from chips of aluminum, fragments of barbed wire, dog tags, medical tools, uniform bottoms, bullets, and scraps of metal. The Exhibit will be on display at UVU April 6-May 2 in the Sutherland Archives Gallery, on the third floor of the new library.
