A few weeks ago, DC Comics killed off Bruce Wayne. One of the comic book worlds biggest icons died, and nobody seemed to notice. There could be any number of reasons for this lack of attention, but the real culprit is one of the most obvious. For sometime now, Batman’s monthly comic books have totally sucked.

Stephen Chbosky has published only one novel in his career. Chbosky more commonly authors screenplays and television scripts, although his novel, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of the most popular books floating around America’s youth. The story follows Charlie, an awkward freshman and his path to self-discovery through writing letters to someone he has never met.
Three of the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival’s favorite story tellers will perform at the Midwinter Storytelling Conference this Friday at Mountain View High School in Orem. Local favorite Bill Harley, joined by Elizabeth Ellis and Syd Lieberman, will perform amid two days of storytelling workshops at the BYU Conference Center, held Feb.
UVU’s production of Nosferatu, a multimedia re-creation of the German silent film originally directed by F.W. Murnau, has been chosen to perform in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in Los Angeles. Nosferatu will perform again in UVU’s Ragan theater this week in preparation for the festival.

On campus, students struggle with professors and grades but rarely realize the rights that entitle them to be treated fairly and with respect.
Published in 1957, On The Road is the ultimate tale of wanderlust and the joys and perils of the open road. The largely autobiographical novel revolves around many of the major players of the Beat movement including the apocalyptic poet, Allen Ginsberg, and Kerouac’s sometimes muse, Neil Cassady.
Tim Rice, an English writer with an impressive resume, has written lyrics to successful musicals such as Jesus Christ Super Star, Evita, Aladdin, Lion King, The Road to El Dorado and many more more. He found a new idea for a story during the frenzied media publicity of the World Chess Championship game in 1972.
Producing Chess is an ambitious choice, even for venues with funding and resources that greatly outnumber those available at UVU. Therefore, the UVU theater department’s choice to put on the show seemed pretty shocking. Chess, written by MAMMA MIA composers Bj?rn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, along with lyricist Tim Rice, is filled with taxing vocals for both the ensemble and leading characters.
Utah Valley University Clubs is hosting a fundraiser All-Nighter event Jan. 30 in the Student and Activities center from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. Proceeds will be given to the various clubs on campus that help to host the event. Kyle Brown,Vice President of UV Clubs, said that the proceeds will be divided by the man hours the different clubs volunteer during the night, so the more people who come, the more money the clubs receive.
