Fox Television has announced that King of the Hill, now in its thirteenth season, will air its final episodes next year. The network says that the two-time Emmy award-winning program’s demise has been a long time coming. “It’s probably time (for Fox to make a decision),” Gary Newman, co-chairman of 20th Century Fox TV, said in an interview with TVWEEK earlier this month.

The majority of this fall’s R-rated comedies have drawn their laughs from over-the-top disgusting gags. While those things are funny in the moment, they are not memorable. On the other end of the spectrum, you’ll find Role Models. While the trailers and TV spots for Role Models make it look like it’s just as much Seann William Scott’s movie as it is Paul Rudd’s, it’s really not.

The rock orchestra group Trans-Siberian Orchestra will play at the E-Center this Wednesday in West Valley. It will be their fourth year in a row performing in Utah. The concert will help spark excitement for the upcoming holiday season with the group’s popular renditions of traditional Christmas songs.

Just east of the University Mall, a new ultra-modern movie theater opened last Friday. The Cinemark University Mall, which saw the demise of the nearby University Cinemas dollar theater before construction on the 14 new auditoriums was finished, shows only digital movies.

I got to the soft opening about 15 minutes early, which is a character flaw. I think of myself as a cool guy sometimes, and then I realize I’m always early and never late. And If I know I’m going to be late I usually don’t go at all. Very uncool. So I’m standing inside the door of the gigantic new Cinemark Theater, not theatre, and I’m the only normal person in the room.
