The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association recently named former Brookside Elementary teacher Shane Draper Rocky Mountain Region Rodeo Coach of the Year. Draper, who traded in his math and science teaching hat last year for a cowboy hat, is now head coach of the UVU Rodeo team.

RSL took on Toronto FC at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday June 27, and came away with a 3-0 win with goals from Yura Movsisyan, Kyle Beckerman, and Clint Mathis. RSL had their work cut out for them right from the beginning. In only the second minute Toronto was given their first corner kick creating a chance for them to score first but failed.

Real Salt Lake has been struggling as of late, to say the least. However, things may be making a turn for the better. On June 13 RSL beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0. This not only marks RSL’s first victory in eight matches, which they dominated in a 6-0 conquest over the New England Revolution, it is also their first and only win on the road this season.
