If you are looking for an inviting spot to study or hang out, look no further than the newly built Digital Learning Center. The views alone are enough to enlighten the minds of all who enter.
During the summer, construction began on the old library located in the Losee Center in order to transform it into the future headquarters for Student Services. The building will be renamed the Losee Center for Student Success.
As students begin to assemble once more at UVU, they may notice little orange tags next to textbooks in the campus bookstore. These orange tags indicate that the books to which they are affixed are available for purchase as e-books. While the bookstore has been offering this service for a couple of years, the practice is now gaining more widespread attention.
UVU students are part of a select group of students nationwide who have the option of choosing from two types of university ID cards: the UV OneCard, and the UV PlusCard.
Most UVU students could sing BYU’s, Notre Dame’s or Michigan State’s, but many seem ignorant of their own university’s fight song. It seems more than likely that a good number of them aren’t even aware that UVU has a fight song.
One of the biggest projects that the wellness program has adopted is the HealthQuest program. HealthQuest promotes lifestyle changes that will work differently for each individual lifestyle. The program runs for 10 to 12 weeks, or the participant can join in for specific sessions. Each session runs approximately 30 minutes to an hour and will include meeting with a health educator once a week and learning about weight management, exercise, stress and sleep management in addition to other topics.
The Writing Center is available to all students and free of charge unlike most similar services at other universities. Whether you need help with an English paper, a history essay or a biology report, the center has several qualified tutors from a variety of backgrounds and majors to help you with your paper.
According to the National Association of Colleges, as many as 65 percent of students opt to not buy textbooks. At some college campuses in Utah there is now another option.
Last February a pair of entrepreneurs, Ron Akins and Stephen Watkins of Murfreesboro, TN, started the first-of-its-kind textbook rental service website called mybookhead.
