10 “Must-Eat” places to take a date

In no particular order… 

 

#1 Mi Ranchito Grille (Mexican) – This family-owned and operated restaurant serves authentic Mexican recipes passed down from generations; definitely one not to miss. 390 E. State Rd., American Fork.   

 

#2 Art City Trolley (American) – Located inside an authentic Trolley Car, this restaurant can serve as a conversation piece between you and your date. 256 N. Main St., Springville.   

 

#3 Taco Amigo (Fast-food) – A community favorite in two locations, this fast-food joint has made the Utah County Health Department’s list of cleanest restaurants numerous years in a row. Here’s a tip: locals mix the fry sauce and hot sauce to make a dipping delight. 239 E. State Rd., Pleasant Grove and 1395 N. State St., Orem.  

 

#4 Porter’s Place (Steakhouse) – Located in an old-time saloon, this restaurant is said by locals to serve the most tender steaks in Utah County. Also, try the scones; they are delicious! 24 W. Main St., Lehi.   

 

#5 Bombay House (Indian) – This authentic Indian restaurant has won numerous awards over the past few years. A tip for the hesitant: ask your server for recommendations. 463 N. University Ave., Provo.   

 

#6 The Valley View Room (American/breakfast) – Not enough credit is given to our food services on campus. The breakfast in the Valley View Room is excellent. If you are looking for a place to have a study/breakfast date, meet your friends here. Also, try the french toast, it’s yummy. Second floor, Sorensen Student Center.  

 

#8 The Purple Turtle (American/ice cream) – If you’re a local, you’ve heard of a Tornado from the Purple Turtle. A Tornado is an ice-cream shake that comes in a variety of flavors. It is so large that it comes in two cups for you to share with a date—one large, and one small overflow cup. 85 E. State Rd., Pleasant Grove.  

 

#9 The Pita Pit (Mediterranean) – This chain restaurant located in the heart of Provo features made-to-order fresh wraps and gyros. In addition, the menu caters to meat lovers and vegetarians alike. 1240 N. University Ave., Provo.  

 

#10 Kneaders Bakery Café (European/American) – Although Kneaders is known for their fresh bread, nearly the entire menu is excellent. They serve gourmet salads, sandwiches, paninis and soup. Chicks dig it. 1990 N. State St. Orem.

I’m fearful that the Pit bull needs a specific kind of proprietor…these dogs, regardless of how ‘supportive’ still have teeth, are nevertheless animals without having moral principles and if they DO bite, won’t let go. As in all animals…some have a tendency to be more suseptable to instinctual habits and time and time once again, this breed tends to perform just that.
