UVU Alum and food services employee succumbs to Lymphoma

Elfriede “Elfi” Panholzer

1959 ~ 2012

Elfriede “Elfi” Panholzer, 52, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah from cancer. She was born December 21, 1959 in Vienna, Austria, and is the daughter of Leopold Panholzer and Hildegard Oehler Panholzer.

Elfi joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was seventeen and was a faithful member all her life.

 

She contacted Dr. Keith and Connie Clayton family in 1980 and was excited to visit America. She has since adopted her American homeland and lived here almost 30 years. She will be greatly missed by her American Father and Mother; Keith and Connie Clayton, and siblings; David (Hyea Won) Clayton, Lisa (Stuart) Ashton, Julie (Joseph) Campbell, Matthew (Melissa) Clayton, and Amy (Ryan) Bonham. Preceded in death by Jonathan, Keith Jr., and Michael Clayton and her Chinese Friend, Susan T’sien.

 

Elfi’s mother, and older sister, Charlotta, precede her in death. She is survived by her sisters, Brigitta Hansen and Hildegard Panholzer; brothers, Manfred Panholzer (Michaela) and Leopold Panholzer, all of Vienna, Austria.

The Claytons wish to thank the loving support of Elfi’s friends; Brooke, Brenda, Tom and Marilyn Alexander and many other friends who have stood by and supported Elfi during her battle with Lymphoma.

 

Elfi attended and earned several degrees from UVU in; Associates Degrees in the Arts, Bachelor of Science Degrees in Theater Arts, Hospitality Management, and Business.

Elfi loved to sing and perform in plays. She worked for many years with the UVU Food Services and Cafeteria.

 

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 5th at 11:00 am in the Mojave Chapel, 3050 Mojave Lane, Provo, where a Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment in East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo, UT.

Elfi was always a delight to be around. She was a very kind person who shared her beautiful smiles and warm hugs. She will be missed by all who knew her.
