Get Tested

schedule 1 min read

For the first time ever, students can come to school, go to class and get tested for HIV and STIs all in the same day. On Feb. 9, the Utah AIDS Foundation, sponsored by the Spectrum Club, will be offering students HIV and STI testing on campus from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Frey Seagrove, president of the Spectrum Club, assisted in planning and organizing the event.

“It’s not just a Gay/Bisexual/Lesbian/Transgender thing. It’s an ‘everybody’ thing,” Seagrove said. “HIV and STIs do not discriminate.”

While the Student Health Center does provide these tests, this is the first time the Utah AIDS Foundation has come to campus to provide mass testing. The tests will be free for most students and offered at a reduced price for others. The entire process only takes about an hour and students can receive their results immediately.
