Hear it live: We Shot The Moon
Sometimes, a song comes along that makes you want to hear it live. This is definitely the case with the music of We Shot The Moon, a San Diego-based indie piano rock group that will be performing Sept. 14 at Velour. It’s natural to compare their music to that of Jack’s Mannequin, but the sound is more upbeat and danceable.
Their upcoming album, A Silver Lining, has been compared to the work of Switchfoot, Muse and Weezer. With a clear pop influence, the piano-driven music makes for some songs that are ready for radio play and others that are perfect for listening to alone at night.
Also performing with We Shot The Moon are Mansions and The Record Life. Both groups feature catchy rock, but are different enough from each other to keep the show interesting. Don’t be late because these supporting acts are worth their stage time.
We Shot The Moon’s A Silver Lining will be available for streaming at absolutepunk.net on Sept. 15, followed by a digital release on Sept. 29. It will be available in stores on Oct. 27. Also check out their previous full-length, Fear & Love, which holds a coveted five-star rating on iTunes.
