You are invited to attend the Deseret Morning News and Utah Valley State College High School Newspaper Instructional Training & Awards Day.
The conference will be held Thursday, February 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
The day will include breakout sessions to help students and advisers with their journalism skills. There is no cost for the day and lunch will be provided. Please bring extra copies of
your publication to share with other students and advisers.
You are also invited to participate in a newspaper competition with selected first place winners receiving a $500.00 scholarship to work on The College Times staff for fall of 2007.
To receive the scholarship a student must meet Utah Valley State entry requirements and fill out The College Times application.
We encourage you to participate in the conference; you may compete for journalism awards without attending.
Winners will be announced at the luncheon February 7.
Entry form, rules and guidelines are included in this packet. Please duplicate as needed. Deadline for entries is Monday, January 28.
