International scholarships
Many students do not know that there are scholarships exclusively for international students. And applying for these scholarships is easier than they think.
International students have to pay more than $6,000 in tuition for 12 credits each semester, but they can apply for three different scholarships and work study positions to cover the full tuition.
The International Student Office offers a few scholarships. The SEP scholarship is one, where students can get a part-time job in college as an office assistant or assistant to any professor. All students qualify after completing two semesters in college, having a GPA of 3.0 or above and being a full-time student. The amount received is $5,000 per year.
The second scholarship they can apply for is the International Student Council, where one can be a leader on the student council. There are 20 scholarships available in this group and to qualify, students must have completed two full semesters with a 3.0 GPA and also be a full-time student. This scholarship covers full tuition.
The last international scholarship is the academic scholarship and the requirements are the same as for the other two mentioned: One must have completed two semesters with 20 credits and be a full-time student. ESL classes do not count as credits for this scholarship. It offers between $1,000 and $3,000 each semester.
General scholarships are also available for all students on the scholarship website, in which international students have the opportunity to apply. Many students make an enormous effort to stay in school and this university gives the opportunity to apply for one or more scholarships, with financial aid available to all who qualify.
This is a great opportunity not only to help pay for college tuition, but also to gain experience through leadership and hard work.
