Jarom Xochimitl
What is your major? Concentration?
BA-Music Cello performance/pedagogy and Vocal performance/choral conducting
What has been your most memorable moment at UVU?
The moment when an instructor recognized an ability in me I didn’t know I possessed, and made sure I became aware.
Biggest achievement?
Becoming the person I set out to be when I started at UVU. I’ve been able to accomplish everything I came to school to do, but more importantly, I’ve learned how to learn from the unexpected lessons and from failure.
What are your plans following graduation?
Graduate studies mostly, but I will also stay with my current company doing the job I love.
What will you miss about UVU?
The constant, daily interaction with so many dear and wonderful friends.
Any words of wisdom?
Set clear goals and strive for them, but don’t despair when things don’t go to plan. That’s life! Learn to be flexible; be that strong river that beats up against the boulders of life, but if they’re guiding you along a different path, be the same river and take it. Take a different way and enjoy the fact that you’ll learn more than you thought possible.
