Letter from the Editors March 28, 2011
O, Darlings!
It’s been two weeks since our last issue and, oh, how we have missed you all! We know the absence was a dark and terrible one, which seemed longer than it actually was. But hurting you wasn’t our intention. Just like Yvette Kimber didn’t mean for that fire to get out of hand. Just like Representative John Dougall didn’t mean to totally strip the people of their access to public records when he drafted HB 477. Just like the split between the Salt City Derby Girls and the Wasatch Roller Derby League was not meant to be such a scandalous schism. And knowing the intention was not to hurt – doesn’t that alleviate the sting?
You’re right. It doesn’t. So read up on all of these best and mediocre-laid plans gone awry. Drink deep in the injustice and the pain. But believe us when we at The V tell you: we’ll never do you no harm.
Love you,
John-Ross Boyce and Nadia Ashtawy
