Gui Leme scored in minute number 10 and it proved to be the game winner as UVU beat San Diego State 1-0 on the road Sunday night.

The match was close throughout, but the Wolverines edged the Aztecs in shots with eight to SDSU’s seven. UVU also had one more save with three. The real difference came in the foul category as the Aztecs racked up 21 fouls to the Wolverines’ 12.

Blake Frischknecht and Blake Leonetti each received yellow cards in the game coming in minute 56 and 44, respectively.

Greg Maas’ team improves to 3-1 on the year and record their third shutout of the young season.

UVU will take on Sacramento State at Clyde Field in Orem Friday evening at 7 p.m.
