Police Beat: November 22, 2010
Nov. 3, 2010
2:32 p.m. – Officer dispatched to the Sorensen Student Center, responding to a report of a delayed rape report from Oct. 30, during the UVU Halloween Dance. After interviewing the persons involved, it was determind the case was unfounded and no rape occurred. No other action was taken.
Nov. 4, 2010
6:34 p.m. – Officer dispatched to a medical call in the Activity Center. Upon arrival, the patient was lying on the floor. Medical assistance arrived and performed patient care. Patient was transported to Timpanogos hospital.
Nov. 8, 2010
12:11 p.m. – Officer responded to a report of a male having difficulty breathing in the Sorensen Student Center. Officer arrived on scene and the individual seemed to be in extreme pain. Orem paramedics arrived on scene and evaluated the male. He was released to the care of his father.
Nov. 9, 2010
8:38 a.m. – Officers dispatched to a report of a male on exterior ledge of a building in an apparent suicide attempt. Officer arrived on scene and found the male sitting on a ledge. After some time talking to the individual, he agreed to come down. Officers transported him to a local hospital for evaluation.
9:51 a.m. – A traffic accident was reported at College Drive and Lot G. The incident occurred between an Orem City fire truck and the privately owned vehicle of a student. The fire truck made contact with the student’s car while running code to an emergency on campus. Orem requested that Utah Highway Patrol be the responding agency. An officer took photos of damage indicated by the student and Orem City Fire.
1:06 p.m. – An adult female was reported to be sick, on the floor and crying in a female restroom in the Gunther Trades Building. It was found that she was having extreme pain in the pubic bone region. It was stated that she fainted while standing at the sink. It was also stated that she was suffering from vomiting and diarrhea. Orem ambulance arrived and transported the female to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
1:29 p.m. – Officers were called to the second floor of the Sorensen Student Center on a suspect who is known to sell marijuana. The suspect saw the witness and left the area. The suspect was seen leaving Lot L as officers arrived on the scene.
2:18 p.m. – An officer met with employees of the Woodbury Art Museum in University Mall regarding a missing art piece. The piece is valued at over $10,000. It is unknown whether the piece has been stolen or is just missing.
Nov. 11, 2010
6:34 a.m. – Officers responded to a report of cows running loose near the library. The cows were located and officers were able to get them to return to the field located next to the Institute property where they came from.
Nov. 12, 2010
11:43 a.m. – Officer responded to a report of a female passing out Adderall to other students on the north side of the library. The suspects were located and checked. No illegal substance was found.
