The North American Union. What exactly is it?
According to the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, it is a theoretical continental union of Canada, Mexico, and the United States similar in structure to the European Union, including a common currency called the Amero.
Is this true? Is a North American Union actually going to be created? Officials from all three nations have said there are no government plans to create such a union, but the idea is still being discussed and proposed in academic and scholarly circles.

The questions still need to be asked and people still need to wonder, What if? What if the North American Union really does occur? What if we join a type of union with Mexico and Canada? Are we ready for the changes that could occur in our world?
There are many different angles to look at, many questions to be asked and answers we hope are answered with the truth. Would all three nations’ economies act as if they are one since we would be using the same currency? Would the borders be open? If the borders opened, wouldn’t that contradict the idea of having more border control? It may seem as if we would be allowing people to freely enter into our country after we tried so hard to prevent illegal immigration. With new cultures coming more into our country, would we need to learn Spanish, even French? There are many more questions that need to be asked; the list goes on and on.
As for now, the North American Union is just a theory, a topic of conversation for people making their opinions of what our world should be. The North American Union has the potential to change the world that we live in drastically, but for now we stand as The United States of America. I am hoping the theory stays just a theory, because I am proud to be an American.
