UVU Volleyball sweeps Invitational
UVU Volleyball won their third an final game of the UVU Invitational, moving forward with their season as they continue non-conference play.
With tensions rising, the energy could be felt around the court. The team comes in with the entire crowd cheering for them as they get ready to dominate the game.
Utah Valley’s Volleyball team looked ready to win. Running into some bumps on the road in the first set didn’t dent any players’ confidence. With the first set being a little rough at the beginning with a losing score of 27-25 in favor of CSU, UVU did not want to quit there they kept fighting with spirits high. They were ready and determined to have a win, starting off the season strong.
Fresh into the season, the players were excited to continue playing and proving to the university that they could win. Having the sets in between where they kept scoring and having a blast out on the court you can see that the team is as strong as ever. Every set was exciting with players like Avery Shewell and Evelyn Chism, being the strong foundation out on the court. Having a team switch and adjusting to fix the most minimal of mistakes really let the team go into success.
As it got to the last and final set where the players did not give up at all, not one of them stopped giving their 100% on that court. They pushed through with great effort. The players supported one another, without giving out, looking tired and ready to sit down, the fight kept going. Having friends cheering along with them being able to stand their ground the game finally came to an end at a solid 25-18 set win.
Utah Valley fans were cheering along with the players and coaches happy and big smiles on their faces. Everyone was excited to have an amazing fight and an amazing game at a home game. Everyone can really feel that this season is one to keep an eye on.
Having such a good win at the beginning of the season coach Sam Atoa spoke on how he felt about the winning of the game,“Of course I’m happy but it’s a team effort.” “Having a few new girls come in really helped with fixing little mistakes and adjusting the gameplay.”
