Who’s ready for some Volleyball?
What’s the best part of starting school? The start of Fall sports, namely volleyball season! Last season the Wolverines had not only 20 wins, but also reached the Western Athletic Conference tournament championship match, and were runner-up to New Mexico State University. That then booked them their first national postseason win.
This year will be nothing short of greatness for the Wolverines.
Lets take a look at our roster for the 2019 season from UVU athletics website: https://gouvu.com/roster.aspx?path=wvball
Head coach Sam Atoa is on his 21 season. Before coaching UVU, Atoa played volleyball for Brigham Young University from 1984-1988 helping to lead the Cougars to three National Collegiate Club Championships. He then began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at BYU, moving to UVU in 1991. Since his move to UVU the team has seen a continuous growth and overall domination of their opponents.
The first match for these Wolverines will be the Green and White Scrimmage on Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the Lockhart Area.
Be there to see these ladies do their work — it’s going to be a great season!
Go Wolverines!
