Brady Selected in Eighth Round by Utah Flash
Former UVU standout Jordan Brady was selected in the eighth round of the NBDL draft last week by the hometown Utah Flash.
“That’s a tremendous opportunity for Jordan,” UVU men’s basketball coach Dick Hunsaker said. “He has a tremendous passion and unmatched work ethic and energy to play.”
Brady, a 6-foot-6 forward from Vernal, Utah, played professionally in Europe last year averaging 11.2 points and tying a single-season school record for the Wolverines with 8.4 rebounds per game during the 2007-08 season. He had six double-doubles for UVU in his final year, including three straight to end the season.
Broadbent, Maher Named Perry Homes Scholar Athletes of the Month
UVU volleyball player Kayli Broadbent and soccer player Athena Maher have been named the Perry Homes UVU Scholar Athletes for the month of October.
Broadbent, a junior from Gilbert, Ariz., currently maintains a 3.9 GPA in exercise science, while Maher, a senior from Stevensville, Mont., maintains a 3.53 GPA in the same major.
Just last week, Broadbent, who is currently ranked twenty-third in the nation in kills per set (4.33) and twenty-eigth in points per set (4.28), was named to the ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District Eight First Team.
Maher, a 2009 Great West Conference First Team selection, scored three goals for the GWC Champion Wolverines.
