Billups replaces Paul on All-Star roster
New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul will miss the NBA All-Star game after being named as a reserve last month. Paul will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the team announced. Replacing Paul as an All-Star will be Chauncey Billups, point guard of the Denver Nuggets. Paul tore cartilage in his left knee, forcing him to undergo the surgery. He has led the Hornets in scoring, 20.4 points a game, and is leading the NBA in assists with 11.2 per contest.
Brees expecting raise in near future
The New Orleans Saints are expected to renegotiate a new deal with their star quarterback Drew Brees. Negotiations are expected to take place in the off-season and should be complete by training camp for the 2010-11 season. This comes after the Colts made it clear they will also begin negotiating a new contract with their franchise quarterback Peyton Manning.
