Larry Johnson eyes Chiefs rushing record
Kansas City Chiefs’ running back Larry Johnson is 75 yards short of his team’s all-time rushing record. The current record holder is former Chief Priest Holmes with a career total of 6,070 yards. Johnson sits just shy of that mark with 5,996. However, a chunk of Chiefs fans have signed a petition asking general manager Scott Pioli to deactivate Johnson for the remainder of the season so the disgruntled running back won’t achieve the record. Johnson has been in hot water with his team and the media after Tweeting several controversial remarks in the last few weeks.
Bowden to decide who fills vacant defensive coordinator spot
The Florida State Seminoles are still recovering from the tough opening weeks of the college football season, and will now have to find a replacement defensive coordinator for next season. Current defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews has announced that he will step down from coaching at the end of this year. Andrews is in his twenty-sixth season with FSU and has been in coaching for 47 years. It is still undecided whether Head coach Bobby Bowden will return next season.
