After another off-season full of wishy-washy decision making, Brett Favre has officially reported to training camp with the Minnesota Vikings. Having announced his retirement following the 2008-09 season, he again led the Vikings and the media on a wild goose chase of decision making. In late July he informed the media that he would not be returning this season citing the daily grind of an NFL season as a reason not to play for the Vikings. Favre’s decision remorse kicked in a few weeks later when he flew to Minnesota to sign with the Vikings.
Smoltz lands with Cards
Future Hall of Famer John Smoltz has found a home with the St. Louis Cardinals after being released by the Boston Red Sox last week. The former Braves great signed with the Red Sox last off-season, but was released after failing to return to form following a sub-par stint with Boston where he posted a 2-5 record with an 8.33 ERA through eight starts.
