The Rain Washes Out Hobble Creek Tournament
Kenzie Jones, Sports Editor, @KenzieScribbler
The final round of the Hobble Creek Fall Classic was cancelled due to unplayable course conditions because of the rain that has been pelting the valley all day on Tuesday. After only being able to play a partial round contest the tournament reverted back to Monday’s results.
The final tournament school ranking is New Mexico State in 1st, followed by Santa Clara in second, and BYU taking third. The lady Wolverines ended the tournament in ninth after being robbed the full second day of play by the weather.
The home tournament didn’t turn out the best for UVU as they not only had mother nature to compete with but not a single female athlete ranked in the player top 20. Cassandra Lesa and Heather Mathison played the best out of the five athletes UVU had representing them when they tied for 30th.
The next event for Utah Valley women’s gold will take place on September 22nd. They’ll be headed to Twin Falls, Idaho to take part in the Idaho Getaway.
