GWC Announces 2010 Fall Academic All-Conference Honorees

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The Great West Conference announced its 2010 Fall Academic All-Conference honors for the sports of football, men’s and women’s cross-country, women’s soccer and volleyball, and 30 UVU athletes were honored.

Making up the academic team are 40 football players, 23 men’s cross country runners, 32 women’s cross-country runners, 56 women’s soccer players and 29 volleyball players.

In all, 180 Great West Conference athletes were named to the team based on a minimum cumulative 3.2 grade-point average. The athletes also must have participated in at least 50 percent of their respective team’s contests. Using the institutions’ most recent GPA, the student-athletes are selected by each member institution’s sports information director with approval from the faculty athletic representative and the head coach. First-year students and JC transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.

Utah Valley University athletes who received 2010 fall Academic All-Conference honors are as follows:

Men’s cross-country: Trevor Baker, Michael Felix, Jared Keller, Joshua McCabe and Timothy Rowberry.

Women’s cross-country: Sarah Blackburn, Stephanie Christensen, Kalina Clegg, Aubree Gailey, Brooke Hodson, Stephanie Talbot and Shelise Walker.

Soccer: Nicole Archibald-Spencer, Andi Bagdan, Lauren Bluth, Camille Broderick, Hailey Brown, Kendra Buchanan, Regan Clifford, Taryn Eldredge, Whitney Fuller, Kelsey Kimball-Cook and Brianne Larsen.

Volleyball: Rachel Anderson, Sarah Clement, Kayli Broadbent-Doxey, Patti Flagg, Chelsey Heaps, Erica Nish and Dani Robison.
