The first week of NFL football has ended and what a week it has been. With the end of NFL action also ends another week in our competitive writers’ league.
The Las Vegas Locos triumphed over Victory Formation by the score of 99-67. Victory Formation led most of the day, but disappointing performances from Golden Tate, AJ Green, and Houston’s Defense disallowed him from reaching his full potential. Jason Witten’s two touchdown game gave the Locos’ their first lead of the game and Julio Jones’ great outing on Monday night made this game lopsided.
Slammin Fortes held off a furious rally by Breesus King Of The Drews to win the matchup 119-95. Drews had a 29 point game from Carlos Hyde and Miami’s two interceptions put them in a good place to win. Fortes won handily however, with Tom Brady’s four touchdown passes, three of them to the Fortes tight end, Rob Gronkowski. Add the solid outings from Matt Forte and Jamaal Charles, and Drews strong performances just weren’t enough.
Mr. Sports Editor pulled out a tough win against Get Fined, winning by the slim margin of 75-68. This game was won on Monday Night where Editor’s quarterback Matt Ryan put 15 points on the board, putting the game just out of the hands of Fined. Both team’s defenses were the highest scorers for each team. Fined’s Seattle Defense put up 18 points, but Editor’s Carolina Defense’s stout outing against the Jaguars gave them 22 points.
Eazy G and Team Poffenberger were in a shootout with the ultimate victor being Eazy G, by the score of 107-98. Easy G got double digit points from Andrew Luck, Jeremy Hill, Antonio Brown, Brandon Marshall, Jets Defense, and Justin Tucker. On the other hand, Team Poffenburg got double-digit points from Russell Wilson, DeMarco Murray, Andre Ellington, DeAndre Hopkins, and Keenan Allen. Both teams did well, but Eazy G walked away with the win.
Team Morin pulled off a stunning comeback win that was finished Monday night beating Amazing St. Patrick by the slim margin of 76-71. Both teams experienced ups and downs throughout the weekend. Morin’s 22 points from tight end Travis Kelce gave him a boost, while Patrick saw 22 points from Aaron Rodgers. Both teams had players that didn’t score any points, but in the end Morin’s fate was in the hands of Sam Bradford, whose 13 points was enough to give him the win.
It certainly was an exciting week in the world of fantasy football, each team will now prepare for the next week. Who will be the victors? Only time will tell.
