Former Wolverine to continue career in Europe

After completing his senior season at UVU in the 2007-08 season Jordan Brady will continue his basketball career as a member of the Luxembourg Racing this fall.

Brady signed a contract with the Racing and will report to training camp Monday with the first game of the season slated for Oct. 4.

“My family and I are very excited for this opportunity,” Brady said. “This is a great stepping stone on which to start my career.”

Brady averaged 11.2 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game in the 2007-08 season at Utah Valley and was named Independent Defensive Player of the Year.

“It’s an exciting opportunity for Jordan,” UVU head basketball coach Dick Hunsaker commented. “His determination and work ethic have provided him an entry into professional basketball.”

Wolverines fare well at State Am

Former UVU golfer Echo Thatcher is enjoying success at this week’s Utah Women’s State Amateur at Hill Air Force Base. Thatcher is in 9th place entering today’s final round after rounds of 72 and 76 over the first 36 holes.

Thatcher, who just wrapped up her senior season this past spring, is 12 shots back of leader Daphne Vines and just six shots off of second place.

Two future Wolverines, twin sisters Monica and Stephanie Fox, are also among the top 40 at the tournament.
