“We are really excited to add a player like Dane to our team,” said Rustand. “He has tremendous work ethic and a great tournament resume and will be able to come in next year and have a positive impact on our team.”
Christensen is attending Amory High School in Amory, Mississippi where he was the state medalist at the 2008 Mississippi High School Golf Championships after shooting a 36-hole score of 139 at Riverbirch Golf Course.
Named the team MVP as a junior in 2008, Christensen is a two-time All-State golfer and a three-time All-Division and All-County golfer. He is a member of the Mississippi Junior Golf Association Club Team and was named a 2008 Academic All-American on the Future Collegiate Golf Tour.
He was named the High School Heisman winner for Amory High School and was a state finalist for the award. Christensen has also competed for three years on the varsity swim team at Amory, placing in six events at the state championships.
Academically, Christensen is ranked No. 1 in his class and is the school’s Valedictorian as well as the Senior Class Treasurer. He has also received several other academic and athletic accolades including being named the WCBI Top 10 Athlete of the Year and is also a 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
