UVU Women Finish Aggie Invitational in Thirteenth Place
Heu leads the way for Wolverines

LAS CRUCES, NM—The UVU women’s golf team fell one spot on the leaderboard through the third and final round of the Aggie Invitational Wednesday, finishing in thirteenth place. The Wolverines scored a combined 76-over 940 through the three-day tournament. BYU maintained their lead and ended with a combined 5-under-par 859 for the tournament, five strokes ahead of second place New Mexico State, host of the event.
Senior Kalea Heu carded the best combined score through the three rounds for UVU, including Wednesday’s 7-over 79 performance. Heu finished in a tie for 46th individually with a 15-over 231 for the tournament.
After carding the best single-round performance for the Wolverines Tuesday with a 1-over 73, Senior Cassandra Lesa wrapped up the tournament with a 13-over 85 performance Wednesday. Lesa finished in a tie for 62nd with a combined 20-over 236. Finishing with the same score after a 5-over 77 final round performance was Freshman Ana Margarita Raga, who competed in the tournament as an individual.
Next for the Wolverines was redshirt Freshman Carly Dehlin, who scored a 12-over 84 Wednesday for a combined 24-over 240, good for a tie for 65th. Junior Kimberly Nyhus and Freshman Katie Perkins each finished in a tie for 69th with a 26-over 242. Nyhus scored a final round of 10-over 82 while Perkins carded a 9-over 81.
The Wolverine women will return to action Oct. 12-13 in Lakewood, Washington with the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, hosted by Seattle U.
