Women’s soccer: Utah Valley suffers loss on the road

SEATTLE, Washington – In the final non-conference match of the season, Utah Valley University fell to Seattle U with a final score of 1-0, in a game where UVU was outplayed and dominated. SU outshot the Wolverines 14 to 6.
After tonight’s game, UVU falls to 6-4-1 overall on the season, and SU improves to 5-5-1 on the season after the win. UVU will have an opportunity to get even against SU on Oct. 28 when they host them for a conference match at Clyde Field.
UVU gave up the game winner in the 56th minute, when Isabelle Butterfield found a corner kick with Hope Fleckner and Karli White credited with assists on the goal.
Brooklyn Nielsen defended the box for the entire game, recording three saves on the night on 14 of the SU shots of the night.
Breanna DeWaal led UVU with two shots and one on goal, along with Sarah Cipperley also sharing one on goal shot against SU.
UVU returns home to open its conference matches on Oct. 7 against CSU Bakersfield. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT.
